PSQG members are welcome to participate in this fun challenge. A $5 fee and completion of the form will get you registered. At the show there will be a display of these quilts and visitors will be able to admire them and vote for their favorite. Winners will receive a small cash prize, ribbon, and bragging rites!
2026 Prairie Star Challenge Quilt
- All PSQG members in good standing are eligible and encouraged to enter. You must be a member when you register and when you submit your challenge quilt for the show.
- Registration will be open until August 2026.
- FEES: $5. To be paid in person at meetings cash or check. Multiple registrations are allowed with each at $5.
- Group quilts are welcome. A quilt made by a piecer and quilted by a quilter is a group quilt. Please acknowledge all who participated in making the quilt.
- VIEWERS’ CHOICE AWARD: Quilts in the competition will be in a special display and viewers will be encouraged to vote for their favorite. A ribbon plus a prize (Determined by the number of entries) will be given at the show.
- Quilts in the competition will not be included in a member’s limit for quilts to show.
- Challenge quilts will be collected separately from show quilts at the August & September 2026 Guild Meeting.
- Quilts that do not adhere to the rules will be disqualified from the challenge competition.
Portrait Challenge
Rules:
- 3 layer quilt, finished size 24”x24”.
- Portrait based on human form.
- Techniques: pieced, turned under applique, raw edge, abstract, cubist, mixed media, etc.
- Design original or created from a photograph. Please be aware of copyright issues.
- Simple or detailed, as desired.
- Embellishments allowed, making sure they don’t make it difficult to stack for travel.
- Label on back with name and phone number.
- 4” finished hanging sleeve.
